Supporting the Words Make People (WMP) Scholarship is part of our commitment to being an industry leader that models the best business practices including giving back to our community. From disaster relief, fundraising initiatives for non-profits and direct support of education to proprietary publishing encouraging interfaith relations, FAMACO Publishers has more than a business mission. We're guided by a belief and a comprehensive business approach that through the power of words, we can help remake the world.
The future is always bright because of young leaders well prepared and eagerly anticipating tackling the difficult issues that face our community and the world. The WMP Scholarship is established in honor of American Muslim Leader, the late Imam Dr. W. Deen Mohammed (ra) who dedicated his life to building bridges of interfaith respect and racial harmony. The Imam’s mission and vision, emphasizing religious scholarship, education, economic development, and the promotion of universal human excellence live on and continue to transpose a legacy of leadership onto the world stage.
The Imam’s commentary on the power of writing and the importance of language and words in Scripture, higher education, and common communication will continue to influence critical thinkers and expand the intellectual capacity for those committed to remaking the world into a better place. His proclamation, “Words make people,” is the source for the Scholarship’s name and vision...brief, yet precise, these three words carry a conceptual richness that has already inspired millions to strive for personal and community excellence...now we hope they will inspire you to fulfill your highest potential.
FAMACO Publishers is proud to partner with the Community Wide Shuraa Conference and others in helping to sponsor the WMP. Thank you to all who share in the vision for a brigther tomorrow by investing in our student leaders today. Contributions to the scholarship fund are fully tax deductible.
Thank you for your interest. Peace be upon you.
FPLLC and WMP National Scholarship Committee
Note: Thousands of scholarships go unawarded annually because students simply don't apply or submit incomplete or late applications. Help us help a deserving student by passing on the word to your online and offline networks. Beginning each February, please share the Scholarship announcement with a graduating, college bound high school senior or current college student. Education makes a people easy to lead but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave.
